Writer/director Jim Jarmusch's (Mystery Train, Broken Flowers) first foray into the world of vampires is also his first film since 2009's The Limits Of Control. In Only Lovers Left Alive, Adam is a reclusive, centuries-old vampire who is bored with eternal life, despite the fact that he's a wealthy and popular musician. He lives in a ramshackle old house in Detroit, paying a human named Ian to procure rare guitars and vintage recording equipment for him so he can avoid the world. Rather than killing humans for food, he survives on blood-bank donations from a local doctor. Meanwhile, on the other side of the world in Tangier, Adam's equally immortal vampire lover Eve senses his depression and comes for a visit to pick up his spirits. Things are going well until Eve's troublemaking younger sister shows up on the couple's doorstep. Forced by Eve's reckless behavior to return to Tangier, the couple finds that Eve's local supplier, Marlowe, has fallen ill due to a batch of bad blood and the pair must decide how they're going to survive.
